WILLI-RAYA the GENIUS

Willi-Raya Harper-Dean, professionally known as WILLI-RAYA the GENIUS, is an entertainer, producer, and community resource activist from Chocolate Bayou, Houston, Texas currently residing in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, New York. Her work has been called both radical and revolutionary. “I want my work to challenge social norms and completely dismantle the current social systems at their root to create space for a new all-inclusive, equitable society through music, film, and all other mediums of art,” says WILLI-RAYA of her praxis.
A graduate of Sam Houston State University with a BA in Mass Communication from the Dan Rather School of Communication, the GENIUS has managed marketing campaigns for brands such as Red Bull North America, PepsiCo, and Heineken.
WILLI-RAYA is a 2026 artist-in-residency at the The People's Theatre where she is currently writing, producing, and starring in her Broadway-bound award-winning solo-theatre show, “WILLI-RAYA GETS NAKED!"
